London is without a doubt the most widely recognized city in the world. After all, who hasn’t seen pictures of London’s famous double decker buses, Big Ben, or the Queen’s guards? Still, London is characterized by much more then its pop icons. London is over 2,000 years old. Making its mark on the world as a busy port town during the Roman Empire. Today, remembrances from London’s various ages exist all around the city. London is a truly cosmopolitan city. Though London honors its past, the cit y leaped into the 21st century with a running start.

England’s capital is one of the most widely visited tourist destinations, for a good reason. One could e asily spend their entire visit just trying to decide what do to. The city has countless tourist attractions including the famed Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, and the Tower Bridge, to name a few. The London Underground is the best way to get to the sights. The Tube has stops nearby all the major attractions. In addition to its main attractions, the city offers dazzling art museums, theater, superb shopping, trendy restaurants, and a nightlife that’s second to none.

After you get your fill of the sights, you may want to spend part of the day shopping on Oxford Street or at Harrods, the world’s largest department store. London is a shoppers dream. Though, the stores and sidewalks are almost always congested. You may want to duck into a nearby pub along the way. London has over 3,000 bars and pubs so you shouldn’t have any problems finding one. In the evening, have dinner at one of the swank restaurants around Piccadilly Circus. Afterwards, take in a show at one of the theaters around Covent Gardens or checkout one of Brixton’s hot dance clubs. With all the choices available, everyone will experience London differently. Regardless of how you choose to experience London, the makings are there for a rich and rewarding visit.
