Discovery Cove
Discovery Cove in Orlando, Fla., is designed the way that theme parks should be, with no lines and limited admission. It also represents a new breed of theme park: upscale and small market. Only 1,000 people are allowed at a time into the park, which is built as a series of lagoons, coral reefs, rivers and white sand beaches.
The main attraction of Discovery Cove is interaction with animals. Guests can swim and play with bottle nose dolphins, snorkel through coral reefs and snorkel past 4-foot-wide stingrays. In one lagoon, sharks and barracudas are kept behind a clear acrylic partition so you feel as if you're swimming with them. Guests can also jump into the river and swim past the park's aviary.
The all-inclusive admission price is $199, which also includes a seven-day pass to Sea World Orlando. Admission without a dolphin swim ranges from $109 to $119.
